Perfect Winter Date Ideas
With winter just around the corner, you’ll be on the lookout for great ideas for things to do with your girl as the chilly weather hits. Most of these are tried and true ways to lift her spirits and warm her heart in the coldest time of the year; don’t worry about being too cheesy. Winter dates are cheesy by nature, and that’s okay. Your friends might be out there trying to get all creative with their winter dates, but in this special time she wants to return to the more traditional ones.
Snowball Fight
If you want to take your girl out to have some fun without paying a cent, this is the choice for you. There’s nothing more fun than to get all bundled up and visit a clear area or local park for an intense snowball fight. Amp up your snowball game by taking out time to build small forts to hide in. It’s harder to ambush each other that way. If you’re feeling brave, try and sneak up on her and catch her off guard. It’ll surely end with the two of you tumbling into a heap, and it will have her laughing for hours afterward.
Ice Skating
If you don’t have an ice skating rink near you, this one might not be a good idea. Lakes and rivers aren’t safe to ice skate on, so even if it looks solid, opt for an actual rink instead. It’ll save you a lot of worry, and she’ll be much happier for it. Rinks are usually heated and they also serve beverages, making it an even more romantic getaway. If she’s not familiar with skating, it’s fun to hold her hand and show her the ropes and catch her if she loses her balance; it makes you seem like a real hero. If she does know what she’s doing, challenge her to a race.
Skiing
This is another one that’s got a specific location to worry about, but if you can get to a ski resort, it’s a prime getaway spot for winter lovers. Not only is the lodge romantic in itself, with its cozy fires and hot cocoa to relax with, but also skiing is a great way to get exercise while having fun. Start on the bunny slopes if she’s new to it; even crash landings are sure to get her giggling. If the two of you are experienced, race here as well for some competitive flirting.
Baking
Especially around the holidays, baking is a great way to get closer to your girl while continuing traditions she’s had since childhood. Whipping up cookies and pies with her is good because you can feed each other the ingredients as well as maybe even have a playful food fight. Once the treats are out of the oven, the two of you can enjoy what you have worked on next to a cozy fire with a movie and some hot cocoa.
